Physicals & Testing
The everyday paperwork of life and work, handled fast and done correctly: physicals for jobs and sports, tuberculin skin testing for school and employment, and South Carolina medical tint waivers.
Pre-employment physicals
Many employers require a physical before your first day. We complete the exam and the paperwork in one visit: health history review, vital signs, vision check, and the hands-on assessment your employer's form requires. Bring the employer's paperwork and a photo ID, and plan on leaving with everything signed.
Sports physicals, ages 13 and up
Pre-participation physicals for student athletes ages 13 and up cover the essentials: heart and lung exam, blood pressure, vision, musculoskeletal screening, and a review of personal and family health history. Bring your school's form and any history of injuries or conditions; walk-ins are welcome.
Tuberculin skin testing (PPD)
We offer both one step and two step TB skin testing for employment, school, and volunteer requirements.
- One step: a single PPD placement, read 48 to 72 hours later. Most annual requirements use this.
- Two step: two tests placed one to three weeks apart, used for new healthcare hires and others being tested for the first time, to establish a reliable baseline.
- Plan your week: every placement needs a return visit for the reading within the 48 to 72 hour window.
Tint waivers
South Carolina allows a medical waiver for darker window tint when a qualifying condition, such as light sensitivity from a medical condition or medication, makes standard tint insufficient. We evaluate your condition and complete the required medical certification for your waiver application.
Common questions
- What is the difference between one step and two step TB testing?
- A one step test is a single PPD placement read 48 to 72 hours later. A two step test repeats the process one to three weeks later to establish a baseline, and is typically required for new healthcare employees or anyone without a recent documented test.
- Do you do sports physicals for middle and high school athletes?
- Yes, for ages 13 and up. Bring your school's pre-participation form and your health history. Walk-ins are welcome.
- What do I need for a tint waiver in South Carolina?
- A medical evaluation documenting a qualifying condition, plus the completed certification for your application. We handle both parts in one visit.
